BasiCColor Input & RawDigger CGATS issues ?

plz take a look @ https://blog.lexa.ru/2017/11/24/rawdigger_1223.html#comment-48537

thx !

It seeems that those two

It seeems that those two patches are out of specs. Maybe a 1 stop increase in exposure can help.

basICColor Input 5 expects CGATS by rows, and scaling the brigtest white on the patch to 242-245 may be in order.

so if I manually type the digits there for those 2 patches (say I will simply multiply DNs by 2 for R, G, B values) then BasiCColor shall work properly - just as a test ? I am at work now, and do not have Input installation handy to test

You can try, but I would

You can try, but I would reshoot and make sure the light is even enough. It may help to measure the target and create a cusom reference, basICColor Input 5 allows such references.

but to simply test a workflow a simple math with DNs (multiply them all = better exposure "simulation") from a regular raw file from Imaging Resource shall [ A ] work and [ B ] not lead to outrageous dE2K like 20-30 with even generic CC reference supplied by BasiCColor for couple of patches... in any case I have to wait till the evening EST time to test @ home...

Please try with SG targets

Please try with SG targets from Imaging Resource, using all 140 patches. However the light on Imaging Resource targets is far from ideal.

I am using those raw files just to test the CGATS workflow in general - in the end I think to use synthetic data ("raw" DNs & target spectrum) generated by dcamprof from my SSF (with all the fine print) and making data to feed to BasiCColor Input from those .ti3 files ... to see if it is "better" than LrPD and/or dcamprof itself

also just to double check - BasiCColor Input [ A ] expects DNs in CGATS to be in 0.00 - 255.00 (it can't scale himself parsing CGATS for the details) range with [ B ] safe bet to scale output from rawdigger to 242-245 max in "Save Samples to File" dialog ... right ?

that was rather old (may be 3 minor releases old) version that was used in your video... may be they introduced something in the code ?

Quite possibly that they did.

Quite possibly that they did. You can try scaling. Also, it may be some problem with Input code for 24-patch targets. Investigating.
