BasICColor Input & DCP profiles... really ?

Forums:

So, after some break I decided, well, create 3 DCP profiles using CGATS from CCSG target...

BasICColor claims that we can create "Art Repro/Archival", "Repro +", "Photography"

It turns out that BasICColor makes me 3 totally identical _matrix_ profiles when I feed it CGATS data ...

Am I missing something in $500-ish software ?

OK, may be yet another CGATS-related bug... so next I loaded A7R2 raw file from imaging resource...

Yes, now I have 3 different profiles... however all 3 still matrix profiles ( why'd they dare to name a _matrix_ profile "repro"-/ "archival-"something though ? )

Plus for "Repro +" profile from the raw file BasICColor codes illuminant for matrix as StdA while for other 2 as D50 (in UI for all 3 D50 was set as illuminant)... why ?

Iliah, you have some working relationship with them - can you please ask them what is going on ?

PS: and in addition - why in the world you can set the exact value "Baseline Exposure Offset", but limited to only 0, 1/2, 1, etc ?

PS: and in addition - why in

PS: and in addition - why in the world you can _NOT_ set the exact value "Baseline Exposure Offset", but limited to only 0, 1/2, 1, etc ?

I asked Franz Herbert to take

I asked Franz Herbert to take a look here is well, may be those too will get fixed ...

while (and if) they are at it

while (and if) they are at it - C1 profiles generation directly from raw files (_not_ the legacy style from "tiff" output from a raw converter) also seems to be totally screwed up ... I shall try to illustrate with screenshots when I get home...

as promised for BasICColor

as promised for BasICColor Input and raw files - the following few issues I think

1) manual says :

"...Please note that Caputre One software offers various film curves.
If you are not always working with the same film curve we recommend
to create several basICColor input Jobs for different C1 film
curves..."

However the .xml files generated by BasICColor Input for example for "linear" curve and "film standard" curve are identical,

here is what I sometimes can get (the content in both cases)

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

n

table

0 0.315134784474919

2) then - how about this screenshot I get next = https://s26.postimg.org/we9zl642h/Bas_ICColor-something-wrong-but-what.jpg ?

plus the curve above looks quite strange to me - am I wrong ?

3) and then when BasICColor Input works with raw files for C1 still why some patches (on the same exactly target that used for profiling
and LUT profiles that BasICColor Input makes in this case) have such big dE2K = https://s26.postimg.org/gsso18up5/Bas_ICColor-07.jpg ?
well - that might be how it is though, a feature and not a bug ...
